It has been a while since I posted here. Just got back from a month in Germany following the World Cup. Been following Andy's progress on here as much as possible from net cafes and the like. Glad to hear that he won earlier on.
I think this is one he should be winning quite comfortably. Of course, the same can be said about his first round match, but he's had chance to bed in on the grass now and should get better.
His main problem will be expectations. He really should be winning the entire thing - not just this match. This is the first time he has been in such a situation for a good year or two. There have been the challengers last summer and then some of his junior tournaments, but nothing at this level. Let's hope he's up to it.
Anybody got any info on Querrey's general game? What surface he prefers etc?
He's mostly played on hard this season, has the usual number of WCs flung at him from the USTA and took James Blake to 3 sets at Indian Wells. Blake is probably the only player more inconsistant than Andy, so hopefully that's not an omen.
I think Andy should win obviously, but I fancy it could be another 3 set thing although there is a possibility that today's close call has kinda woke him up and he could come out and win pretty easilly. I know that he should beat Querrey easilly, but playing guys who you know through juniors isn't always easy.
checked the weather, and its raining lightly in rhode island, but then it humid as well, so i think the thunderstorms have cleared. i doubt whether play will resume, and ive checked the following day's forecast n says it going to be similar conditions!
Its 6.08pm local time....what time do they call it off usually.....have the courts there got floodlights for evening matches ? Sunset 8.21pm local time.
