Here's the Table [(c) GC77] for week 28. I'm expecting to have to adjust the 18th/19th results once Tennisfacts is updated. It's based on the final Wimbledon table plus the ATP rankings on Monday, so any mistakes made there will be repeated here.
There appear to be no ATP points to defend this week as it was Davis Cup week. However there are Challenger results (Including Andy's Aptos Challenger points)
Please let me know when you spot errors!

I was having massive difficulty editing this morning - the site ground to a halt. I'm guessing the activeboard people had to reboot or something, and everything that was being updated at the time fell off their list of recent posts????
Either that or its something about this post being pinned up as a sticky post?
both test posts are there. I was having massive difficulty editing this morning - the site ground to a halt. Tried that and making the 'Brits in Futures Week 28' un-sticky made it appear on the recent posts list....bizarre ?
I have just done a few trials. It looks as though all "sticky" threads are not appearing on the recent posts page. Weird. I have "unstickied" a couple more and we'll see how it goes.
I don't get this, if Murray is on 901 loosing 60, gaining 5 from Newport, I make that 846, not 857.
What's going on? Also, I think the ordering is not quite there...? The numbers are right (except for Soederling) but the lines not in running order. Looks like someone started an edit, but did not finish it...

Thanks Nads - I hadn't moved Andy down the right number of places. Greenleaf's explainedd the 857, I think!
He starts the week 2 ranking places down at 38th, but has one of the weakest ATP draws this year to face (I've seen tougher Challengers!).
Most of Andy's competitors are slugging it out at Bastad in Sweden, which helps to minimise losses.
If he wins in Newport he can jump 9 places to 29th! However he needs Bjorkman to go out in R1, Acasuso in the quarters and Massu, Soderling, Matthieu and Johansson not to win their tournaments. Worst case is just a five place jump to 33rd.
For a finals place, he can jump 5 places to 33rd. He needs Matthieu not to make the semis, Johansson Massu and Soderling not to make their final and Chela, Simon and Almagro not to win their tournaments. Worst case he only jumps 2 places to 36th.
For a semis place, he can retain his start of the week ranking, and advance one to 35th. He needs Johansson to not make the quarters, Massu and Soderling not to make the semis, Chela, Simon and Almagro to not make the final and Moya and Serra not to win their tournament. Worst case he drops two places to 40th.
For a quarters place, he gains points, but doesn't advance from 38th. He needs Soderling to lose in R2, Simon to lose in the quarters, Moya, Chela, Almagro and Serra to lose in the semis and Martin to not win. Worst case he drops five to 43rd.
For a R1 or R2 loss, he gains no points, and has to look over his shoulder. Soderling needs just a R1 win to overtake. Moya, Chela, Simon, Almagro and Serra need semi- final places. Martin needs a finals place, and Mirnyi needs to win his tournament. Worst case he drops 7 places to 44th.
While Andy looks to Sweden, Tim and Gregwill be worrying about what's happening near the ski slopes of Gstaad in Switzerland in particular.
Ruben Ramirez-Hidalgo only needs a R1 win to overtake Tim, and he can overtake Greg if he reaches the semis.
Ivo Karlovic (seeded 2 in Newport) overtakes Greg if he reaches the quarters.
Rochus and Sanguinetti overtake both Tim and Greg if they reach the semis
Gasquet overtakes Gred if he makes the semis
Seppi, Lopez, Wawrinka and Fish overtake Tim if they make the semis, and Greg if they make the finals.
Mayer can overtake Tim if he reaches the finals of his Challenger event
Vik can overtake them both if he reaches the finals
Nine more can overtake one or both with a finals place or a tournament win.
Worst case for Tim is an 11 place drop to 72nd. For Greg it's a 7 place drop to 64th
Well we're without Imoen's talent with the pins this week. Unfortunately, Bjorkman - the man who cannot be stopped - still needs stopping Madeline, we're relying on you!
Tomorrow's headline: is Ramirez- Hidalgo, who overtakes Tim if he beats Swiss Wildcard, Roshardt in Gstaad.
Also Robin Soderling plays Boris Paschanski, and will go above Andy if he wins.
Otherwise, no- one in any tournament has to go out in Round 1, but we won't complai if the close competitors who are playing, do: Simon from Andy's list, Sanguinetti and Lopez from Tim & Greg's
Great News! Andy is 36th in the world, not 37th as we'd been expecting!!!!
It seems our friends at Tennisfacts missed the fact that Nicolas Massu was defending 75 points from Gstaad last year as well as 35 from Wimbledon, which means he tumbles down to 37th, and Andy's up at 36th!!! tables & commentary to be updated shortly!
