Fourth set: 6-5* to Bjorkman. Stepanek gets 30-40* - Deuce.....Ad Stepanek...game - Tiebreak!

Now then Jonas,   remember that you want to be the Wimbledon doubles champ, and your quarter final starts straight after this match.  You don't really want to take it into a fifth set.  Take it easy! you've done very well this week.

Mini- break to Bjorkman: *2-1. Then holds his serves: 4-1*...Stepanek gets one back: 4-2* and another:*4-3......then gets the mini-break back *4-4...5-4*...5-5*....*5-6....

Match point Stepanek:  now then pinhead - time to choke......*6-6......7-6*.....and again... 7-7*.....Gahh! mini break to go *8-7, and Bjorkman takes the fourth set 7-6(7).

...and Bjorkman shrugs off the pins and wins 6-4.

Andy's now going to be WR37, as Bjorkman overtakes all three Brits to go to WR 29, and face Federer

Well done to Bjorkman and all, but WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO STOP THIS MAN????

Just before I went out he was down a break in the fourth and then he went and won the thing Oh well, still a career best for Andy at 37.

Now want Bjorkman to do well against Federer. (I keep saying this, I really just want Federer to lose a set this championship!)

Now imoen, why would you want Roger to drop a set at wimby? Looking back to the French, he needs all the self-confidence and energy he has to beat Nadal in the final!

I am eagerly awaiting the week 28 thread (wink wink)

I'm afraid the week 28 and week 29 threads won't be nearly so good as I'm going on holiday so won't be able to provide the commentary, and as you all know that's what makes these threads.

As for wanting Federer to lose a set, it's more because I want some variety than anything else

.....in fact, maybe it's not even worth carrying on without you................

....well, I think we'll have to soldier on, and between Madeline, GC77 and myself try to somehow do justice to Newport........

First post updated.  That'll be it for the week, with possibly Schuettler poking up into the bottom of the table if he wins in Cordoba.

Somewhere along the line we all went wrong with the points of Massu; we had him ending at 925 points, the new ATP lists have him at 890 - below Andy! So Andy finishes at 36!

nice - isn't it!

He was defending 75 points from Gstaad last year, which Tennisfacts forgot to include.
