RE: Boggo v Rafa

Boggo holds to love at the beginning of the second set.

Nadal to serve:

15-0,
15-15, super volley
15-30, Nadal hits a forehand into the net.
deuce (sorry missed a bit)
ad nadal
deuce, once again Boggo beats Rafa at his own game!
ad nadal, drop shot that Boggo couldn't get to.
game Nadal. Nadal made Boggo go back and forth all over the place I think he was expecting to win the point quite a few times there but boggo kept making him play one more shot!.

1-1

Boggo match on over here in the States and the commentators are really praising Alex....wondering why they have not heard more from him.  I wonder too...this is a great match and this second set really should be on serve....he is playing GREAT!  Just a horrible draw.....

Rafa wins in straights, 64 76(3) 64.

A great effort from Boggo, i just wish the commentators had known more about him.

Well played young man.  Shouldn't you be in bed rather than posting on the message board at 2 in the morning - you've got another game on Thursday, and you should take it seriously when youre the number 2 seed!

just back from my hols, (in portugal, so was lots of fun when they won the footie as you can imagine).

managed to see the 2nd set and and start of the 3rd b4 the tv was swtiched to the footie.

extremely impressed with alex's perfromance here, his rallying and shot revocery were really imprssive, i think he needed to come into the net a bot more, but i think thats easier said than done vs a player with such power that he can hit a blistering passing shot almost everytime.

i know people often raise their perfoemce against top players, al needs to carry that thoughthe summer, he really admires nadal so probably playing him so well will have done wonders for alex's confidence. maybe will help him belive that he can comptete.

anyone find out where alex's coach went too? the commentators made quite a lot out of that.

looking at al's stats he didnt hit 1 df which was good esp under that kinda pressure, his tolat points won were only a few behind rafa, 104-115 and his serve speed seems to be higher, 126 as his fastest is good for him i think previously his avergae would have been lower too.

hopefully he can get into the newport md and get a decent 1st round opponent so he can get into a grass tournmanet. he looks likely to be the humber 1 seed for manchester challenger too, he's got to progress there as he is effectilvy defending his qf from last year and also his win from nottingham which he will probably miss due to the dc tie.
