Sugiyama holds, Breaks Naomi to love (I think) in the next game , then serves out to win 6-4, 7-5.

Fantastic game from Naomi. She was in no way out- classed after the initial stutter in the first set. She's got some excellent very powerful strokes, and lots of guts.....here's hoping for the rest of the season!

I watched bits of it and the one thing I would say is Naomi needs more shots in her repertoire, she rarely changed the pace of her shots and that would have helped her. Having said that she never looked like a player 450 places below Sugiyama so well done to her.

a great brit effort from cavaday! even though she lost, she outhitted suigyama with her forehand. i dont think she lacking anything in her groundstrokes, its how she construct the points that bothers me, but hey at least she gave her a fright! more experience and the top 100 wont be far from reach. it wouldnt surprise me if she won the juniors by she played against the 18th seed.

Once again a fab effort from the 17 yrs old!
