If Andy does win, how many places will there be between Soderling and Murray? Cuz they're on course to meet in the semis, with a place near the top 30 up for grabs, am i right?
Presuming Andy wins (by no means definite) he will be at 36 and Soderling at 38 (I think). The winner in the semis would be at 36, the loser at 37 but neither of them can gain anymore places without winning the final.
However, for any of that to happen Andy has to win his quarter final and he's just lost the first set.

They're just 8 points apart. A place in the final is still just worth WR36 - there's a massive 75 point gap between 35th & 36th. But Andy does, of course have to do better than Soderling to keep that 36th ranking.
Grrrr, Now that Andy's out, all eyes are on Lopez v. Bjorkman. If Lopez wins, then Andy's back down to 44th, having started the day at 41st. Greg's down to 42nd.
After Lopez, there's no- one left in the draws that can catch Andy.
Seppi, though, as well as Bjorkman (who's playing Lopez) can go above Tim if they reach the final. Seppi & the winner of that match play tomorrow. So if Lopez loses, Tim will drop a place tomorrow. If he wins, Andy and Greg will drop one today.
It might turn out to be 44. Andy is on equal points with Xavier Malisse - I have never been able to work out how the ATP decide the order of players on level points. They hardly ever show them on equal ranking.
Andy is on 43, or as Madeline rightly points out 44. On my table, firts name alphabetical order wins, so we're good until Andy's level with Andre!
Over to Imoen, for tomorrow's pin strategies, especially for fiendish ways of having neither Bjorkman, nor Seppi advance, and so knock Tim back a position.
