Johnny I agree with you. I just got up in time to watch the third set over here, but it makes me mad that an ump allows another player to do that to a player. You have to ignore the players and make the right call. The linesman was effected by Hewitt and that point changed the match. To come back from 0-40 to deuce would have been huge and I would have fancied Henman.....
One of the very few matches I have been able to watch live. Tim was playing really well but he let the bad calls (and they were VERY bad!) get under his skin.
These decisions were a very good reason for introducing Hawkeye.
I'm just back from London (from Glasgow), Henman has beeen a favourite for many years and had tickets for the last 2 days at Queens and was lucky enough obviously to see the Henman/Hewitt match though also thought line calling an umpiring appalling at times. So much in tennis is about momentum and Tim certainly had it stolen from him! Having said he did let it get to him too much and really fell away at the end, so I hope he can learn from the experience. Would have liked to have been there for some of the earlier matches particularly Henman/Agassi but could only take so much time off work (as on holiday whole of wimbledon fortnight though have no ballot tickets yet anyway) but couldn't have stood the really hot weather early in the week for long. It was boiling on Saturday but a bit cooler on finals day.
Let's hope for good draws for all our players at Wimbledon. See that Murray got back on track today so not sure just how well Tursunov was performing- didn't listen to the radio as watching the tennis from Holland (and I much prefer visual to audio tennis (unless maybe Tim was playing - though was following scoreboard.)
