Not Tim's best performance but a good win that ensures a good haul of ranking points

Go TIm! Once again I enjoyed watching him play for once!

Tursunov is a bit of a legend though. Twice stopped playing coz he hit bad shots even though they landed in. One was on set point.

He also hit an easy smash into the net and out from about  1 yard away form the net when defending a break point.

Tim's least convincing performance of the week but most encouraging result. Nadal or Hewitt up next for TIm.

I make that a rise in the rankings from 76th to 62nd this week!

Thanks for the commentary, Imoen!

What is the projected ranking rise for making the final and/or winning the title?

If he beats Hewitt (or Nadal?) then he's 56th or 57th, depending on how Florian Mayer (WR69)does in Halle today and tomorrow. If he then beats Roddick (or Blake, Gonzales or Monfils), he'll be 50th unless Mayer wins Halle.

FAN-FLIPPIN'-TASTIC!

I couldn't watch the match but I recorded it. I will savour it tomorrow sometime.

Revenge is sweet!
