ATP Rules
Lucky Losers are players who have lost in the final round of the qualifying event or, if
more Lucky Losers are required, those players who have lost in the previous qualifying
round(s).
The Lucky Losers shall be selected on the basis of their position on the
INDESIT ATP Entry Ranking (Singles) List
(Entry Protection is not considered) used for
the determination of qualifying seeding; that is, the Lucky Loser with the highest
Entry Ranking position shall be the first inserted into the main draw and so forth. Only
those accepted into the qualifying competition may sign in as Lucky Losers.

How many lucky loser spots are there available at the moment ? [ie: how many players have withdrawn from the main draw so far to create those places]

Definitely one but not sure how many more. Greg, Monfils and Karlovic are out but I don`t know whether they all pulled out before the draw came out.

Verdasco`s withdrawal should have created one LL spot.

The main draw sheet now shows 5x (Q)/LL , so yes one LL spot has been added.

So (9)Malisse takes his place and leaves a (Q)/LL with Richard Gasquet or should that be a 'ULL' place?

I think a more appropriate rule should be who lost to the highest ranked player in final qualifying as this promotes giving players on the way up a chance against the big boys - oh and it would mean Jamie got the space!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought those rules had just been changed, and the lucky loser's name was virtually drawn out of a hat from the losing finalists?

Tipsy beat Jonny 6-3 6-2. I suppose that at least means Jonny is available for Wimby qualies.

Not according to the 2006 ATP rulebook!
That was wishful thinking Madeline, this is not county stuff, anyway the draw has been made now and the next seeded player Vacek was given the LL spot.

Richard Bloomfield plays Tipsarevic at around 2.00pm on court 1
Two Murray brothers play 4th match on ctr court

Same here, it must just have been discussed rather than agreed or something, or maybe they can't/won't change it until next year Oh well, it makes no difference anyway!

I'm not sure whether to be upset or pleased that Jonny lost as it means he can now go to Wimbledon qualies, but doesn't get into Nottingham. maybe he'll come on and tell us his thoughts.
