An aside. Jodie has posted on Insta some of the horrendous posts following her defeat today. It is absolutely awful. Good on Jodie for calling it out but TBH who would want their kids or grand kids involved in this game? Awful.

A very courageous thing to do by Jodie. The use of social media by these cowards to express such disgusting intentions needs to be stamped out by the platforms themselves who could do a lot more to intervene.

I'm surprised that sportsmen and women bother to have any social media accounts TBH.  Can they not be set to private only?  Sorry I've never actually been on one that I know of. This message board is about as social as I can manage.

On radio 5 earlier today, a high profile runner was talking about these comments and mentioned that some sponsors demand that their player has a social media account as part of the deal. No clue whether that applies to any of our players but it might explain why they continue to have accounts when it would seem sensible to delete them.

I've known some players to suspend their accounts for a few days when the comments are too bad. I've also noticed that some don't look at messages at all.

Evo didn't do social media at all if I recall correctly

Drat. Wasn't a great level but they had chances (lost all three deuce points). Time for Mana to enjoy her retirement and for Em to find a stronger partner to try and get back into the top 200 by the end of the year.

Eden and Freya had a bit of a shocker too

A little odd that Ayukawa is ten years younger yet she's the one retiring.
