I suspect a bit of a rollercoaster of a match.

Yes, Harriet started off a little all over the place

With Xinran hitting the ball sweetly, with good depth

But Harriet seems to have settled a bit now, has landed some decent serves

Harriet is stronger on the groundshots and should really win if she can get her serve firing.

Xinran played some nice tennis, and Harriet faltered

The depth of Xinran's groundshots is rather rattling Harriet - Harriet hits her best shot and it comes bacK, deep

Lovely relaxed arm in the young Chinese girl - her Serbian trainers have always been real technique hounds

But Harriet had her chance and couldn't capitalise

5-7

Yes when she missed the short forehand after saving the first break point at *5-4 deuce it sort of fell away.

Should have consolidated the break in the second but again great play from the Chinese player.

1-1*

4-5 now in the second

Harriet upset about a bit of crowd noise during points but, honestly, what does she expect?

Maybe it helps her to externalise it, as they say (!)

But I'm not convinced

So, so close to double-faulting on MP

Maybe the dribble over was the gods smiling on Harriet

Those gods carry on smiling

And Harriet plays a good TB

Into a third set

The Masters was really intense last week, and a lot of tennis, with the round robin format

Funding decisions made on the back of it so it was important

(And before that too)

And then the run this week

Xinran looks pretty bushed there
