Week 42 - WTA250 - Osaka, Japan - Hard

Well the woman seem to be coming good!Keep the faith. Despite all the handwringing earlier in the year. The two danger points I see next year are Emmas points dropping at Queens and Katies for reaching the semis. On the mens side its Arthur I am most concerned about as TBH I cant see him replicating a semis berth at Wimbledon again. So the women might actually end up with more in the top 100 than the men next year. Who knows. I also think it helps our rising juniors to have a bit of depth at the top, takes the heat off them.

I know what you mean Var but I don't think Arthur will be a flash in the pan. He showed in Winston-Salem, where he made the final, that he's capable of doing damage elsewhere and came very, very close to beating Khachanov (US Open semifinalist) in Shanghai.

I reckon that by the time Wimbledon comes around, he'll have enough points to still be in the top 100, even with an early exit. And I can see Jake getting back to the top 50.

If Jack recovers from injury, there's a possibility we could have 5 men in the top 100 sometime in 2027

Arthur, Cam, Jake, Toby and Jack? You expect Jan to stay outside now? Presuming so, I think I agree, my instinct is Jan made his peak this year and will sustain a 100-150 position next year, maybe after a drop down. I don't expect JPJ to make the leap to top 100 but he would be my only other player who may be outside your top 5 who could break into that group.

How about 5 men and 5 women in the top 100 in 2027 ( keep going Fran and c'mon Emma and Harriet ). That really would be something.
