Sonay stays strong on bh cross rally and Jelena misses up the line.

Sonay first set 7-6(9).

Mad first set.
Typical Osta - Sonay just needs to hang in and wait for Osto to implode.

What a crazy set of tennis.
A lot to be said for basically getting the ball over the net and back into play and wait for your opponent to either hit an amazing shot or hit an unforced error.

Good solid play from Sonay without being spectacularly good, though these were some great shots, and typical Ostapenko.

Typical Ostapenko stats - WTA doesn't agree with what was posted on TV - 24 winners and 20 UFE

Well done Sonay, good recovery from a double-break down at 1-4*

Jelena doesn't let the first set collapse bother her, only dropping one point in the first three games of the second set.

Sonay 7-6 *0-3

Rinse and repeat.

Sonay, just get the ball over the net and in play and you have a great chance of winning this.

 yes, good summary

Really enjoyed that first set smile

Sonay's first serves weren't that good, or that many

But she put good pressure on Jelena - who was always going to be flaky when it came to closing it out, in particular
