so, request for those on the board to step up and show their community spirit! In my recent request for feedback on player of the month and season, several people commented on how important the nominations and narratives are and requested that for player of the season, we include similar narrative write ups.
I've never done it before as it's too much work for one person - particularly given the run in to Xmas and new year -
and I've been sceptical that enough people will put their hands up to join in. So now's peoples chance to show if they're up for helping out and being part of the board community.
Im looking for volunteers to create narrative write ups for each player in player of the season. I'll put some rules in place on length but at this stage need to ensure each player has a writer. If any are not covered, it won't work. If we have too many creators it will probably end up a mess bit too few and we will find it is too much for those who do volunteer. We usually have circa 28 players qualify and I expect around that this year. We have 18 so far. I'm looking , therefore, at maybe 8 people to put their hands up and say they will write 3 or 4 narratives each to help the process.
the current list of 18 is above - I don't think we need to have names in frames just yet. I'll do that once we have volunteers in general and we can then agree who does what.
I reckon the narratives need writing over December as PoS voting takes place in early Jan and players seasons are over from end November Ish.
so the ask at this stage is to post in this thread if you're willing to take on 3 or 4 players - any fewer and it probably won't work. Just say below, "up for it", I'll collate a list and then, if we get enoigh people putting their hands up, we can go from there. If we don't get enough, I'll scrap the idea and just go with posting names for the votes and
letting people do their own research (which they can do anyway of course!)
so, hope that works - comments etc and volunteers post below.
Don't you already have the narratives? i.e. all the narratives from PoM posts?
Why not just re-post all of those - that's what they got voted in on?
They'll be detailed and correct
If not, I'll do some, no problem (just no quad tennis, and no Fed Cup stuff, as I have no idea)
Hi CD - not really because the season can reflect much more than just the one month, at least that is my view. And to cobble together a series of monthly narratives (some people are nominated several times) would make them very long. im thinking a seasons summary. Others may disagree?
So , yes, the month they won or got in for is a decent part of it, but there is a lot more I think to someone's season?
But, thank you and I'll count you in with that noted caveat re no wheelchair or team tennis!

6 to 8 people writing 3,4 or 5 each shouldn't be too much work. One person writing 32 is a lot, or 2 or 3 people even, for one person. But if we can get a little squad of say 8 together, it should be quite simple.
I'll do some - but only the women's as I don't really follow Challenger or ITF events for the men and haven't a clue.
Thanks TA- and that's fine; when we have our squad of creators together we can allocate players to them; totally ok and, ditto, I don't follow women's as much so happy to stick to men and wheelchair etc.
so I think we will be fine!
4 people in place. No rush on others although if we get people together soonish we can allocate the existing batch of players when ready. For now, no rush at all.
