Week 39 - WTT W75 - Quinta do Lago, Portugal - Hard

No players in qualifying this week, but Katie Swan, Alicia Dudeney and Naiktha Bains should all be in the main draw.

Yea, a big CH for 21 yo Brantmeier with her going on to be RU in last week's Porto WTA 125 after beating Sofia J by 6-3 6-4 in qualifying and Naiktha by 6-4 6-4 in the L16.

Looking back to that thread, she is the current NCAA champion and earned a US Open MD WC by winning the USTA American Collegiate WC play-off.

Who ended up winning the tournament in Porto, was it the young player who beat Katie in a decider in the QF?

No it wasn't Pohankova, she lost in three to the top seed Timofeeva in the semi, who then beat Brantmeier in the final.

Katie levels at *4-4 after being an early break down.
Naiktha lost the first set 2-6 but is an early break up in the second *2-1

I was a little worried about Katie initially, she looked to be struggling with her serve but she's settled into this nicely now

Katie takes the first set tie break, almost threw it away from 6-1 up but took it on the 5th set point

Naiktha has levelled up at a set all as well

nail-biting end to the first set but she won it, which is all that matters really

Agreed, would just prefer her to not take the hard route from 6-1 up wink
