Lloyd Glasspool in the comments - "imagine finding out the Davis Cup team over Instagram, top captaincy on show." Leon's obviously done a good job over the years, but doesn't seem like great communication with one of your top doubles players, who would rightly feel they were at least in with a shout of making the team (although for the record I think the 2 chosen are the correct decision at this point)
Maybe better having a private word with Leon. Just because public criticism may be the in-thing with Man United footballers doesn't make it a good thing.
I suspect, though, that it was pretty much certain that Leon would choose Henry and Neal, Lloyd and Julian had shown no obvious sign of challenging their position, presumably Leon didn't feel the need to explain or inform Julian and Lloyd as, this time at least, they weren't in contention for it?
And agree, calling out your team captain in public is a duff shout from Lloyd, better ways of dealing with any disappointment at missing out.
