Absolutely fascinating listening to Marion talk about Harriet and the three things she's working on with Harriet.
1. Hug the baseline.
2. The serve (she says what she wants to do needs the off-season to work on properly)
3. To detach results from sense of self-worth.
That third one was so interesting to hear her talk about because it got to the heart of so many of the issues we frequently talk about with Harriet and her attitude. Made so much sense, and also an important thing for her wellbeing generally.

I think some (probably the majority) stems from the set up in Junior Tennis during Harriets earlier years. It's pretty obvious there are the chosen ones and the rest. CD has alluded to the same thing with Hannah Klugman.
Harriet missed 4 break points in the opening game. Most saved with good serving.
She's just found a couple of service winners to save break point and hold for 2-2*. 4 aces not what you expect in two games!
Making a good fist of it but Stearns has too much power off the forehand in particular and unless she starts spraying I think will pull away eventually.
Harriet hits her first double at *3-4 40-30, misses another game point, clips the tape and it just drops back over on her side to go down break point. Tight forehand return from Stearns flies long, but she finds the line to get another.
3-5*
That's a big blow, and almost certainly the set gone.

It might not be enough but some very good serving by Harriet - if that's mainly thanks to Marion, then, Marion, merci mille fois !
Just realised Otto Vitanen who just beat Jack PJ in Q2, then gave Dimitrov a walkover in QF, got a LL spot. Doesnt that seem strange? If not fit and dont even play QF, you get into the main draw or am I missing something?!
