Jake would have a shot at a LL place if he were to lose (as would Toby). Jake is 4th seed and the top 3 seeds are still all in (Gea, Wong and Gaston). Rumours that Ruud may pull out

Remind me of the rule here? Number of withdrawals + 1 go into a LL draw? If just Ruud withdrew, it would be the top 2 ranked FQR losers in a draw?
No, it's the four highest ranked (rankings used for seedings) that go into the initial draw, unless there are more than two withdrawals, when the number in the draw is the number of withdrawals plus two.
Looking at some of the stats, during this event Jake has served at over 70% of first serves in during the first two matches. That is a decent number - I always think if you manage over 2/3rds you are doing well, particularly if you are hitting your serve normally (ie not just rolling it in)
However, and this is the big but, Jake is only getting a similar 70% of second serves in and has served 16 double faults in his first two matches.
Rodionov is a strong server but Jake getting his first in and minimising doubles could be the key to his match
Harry only has 56% of first serves in, he is holding break points well and definitely converting well with 64% ( 9 of 14) break points won. Up his first serve percentage and keep playing those big points well and Harry stands a good chance

Ok - thanks. So it is 4 in the draw unless there are 3 withdrawals and then it increases by 1 per additional withdrawal over 2.

Ugo Humbert has withdrawn
Wow - so Arthur is 1 away from being seeded now. Come on Casper time to rest that back!

During the last match it was noticeable (and commented on by the commentator) that M Pavlovic tried to chip back Mr Fearnley's first serve - regardless of its speed - but stepped in to wallop his second serve. Assuming that Mr Fearnley also noticed this, it paid him handsomely to ensure that he got his first serve in (even if that meant taking a lot off of it).
There only appears to be 7 Americans in the QR2 stage, in the mens, 6 womens. We arent actually far behind, havent counted but we must be close to top representation after the Americans?
For the FQR, combining men and women, we are 2nd only one behind the Americans.
1. USA 7 ( 3 men, 4 women )
2. GBR 6 ( 3 men, 3 women )
3. JPN 5 ( 3 men, 2 women )
The USA with 4 women are the only country to have more than 3 in either, we and the USA the only countries to have at least 3 in each.
And bear in mind, with how most of the MD WCs are pre-determined, almost all the USA players in the qualifying range of rankings are just left to take part in qualifying rather than be up for MD WCs.

Thanks Indy - really does feel like a great week for GB. Everyone whos voted in the slam wins prediction competition has gone relatively low so far; those who have waited may have a definite strategic edge, if this translates in any way.
Hmm not sure. I will always wait for main draws for a general look but I'm not sure how much qualifying here would effect anyone.
It's great to be doing so well in qualifying but even if we get a few right through, how many MD wins are they likely to acquire? But hey we could have say Jake vs Toby or Fran vs Harriet, if very unlikely.
