And congrats to Harry for his first grand slam win! He's a resilient cookie isn't he? I watched the second set and early part of the third set against Travaglia, and wasn't sure he was going to come through. The Italian was starting to get his forehand working, there were quite a few noisy Italians in the crowd and Harry wasn't his usual robust self from the back of the court. I left it at 2-2 in the decider, sensing it might be slipping away, and was very pleasantly surprised to see that he came through.
Watched the first set tiebreak of Felix against Passaro. The Italian played a really good breaker, including a moment of pure class to go 5-2 up, sprinting to a Felix drop volley and angling the deftest of backhand winners cross-court. Was one way traffic from there.
Just caught up with PJ's match - nicely finished with a break of serve
You got me there initially, I was thinking that Paul isn't even here. Good to see Jack's win, one that the bookies doubted, on indeed a pretty good day. Hope Henry can make it 6 QR1 wins. He should.
Pity that the men only get 8 ranking points for Slam QR1 wins against the women's 20 points. Hopefully we will have women's additions to Hev later today.
It's 8 / 16 / 30 ( effectively 40 with MD R1 points ) as against 20 / 30 / 40

But at least they all get $48,000
Yea, if some do it for more than love and ranking points

The guys and gals have got to eat
I always think of Grand Slams as money events
For the men, it's 8 points, as you say, but $48k (or $16k if you just look at the jump from turning-up $32k to QR1 win $48k)
That's $6,000 (or $2,000) per ranking point
Whereas the lads in ATP 50 Roehampton this week will get 8 points just for making the QFs - it's plain daft
YET they'll only get $1600
So $200 per ranking point
So, go for it, kids - keeping your head above the water financially is a major ask - so get those kerching moments and bank them !
