There only appears to be 7 Americans in the QR2 stage, in the mens, 6 womens. We arent actually far behind, havent counted but we must be close to top representation after the Americans?
For the FQR, combining men and women, we are 2nd only one behind the Americans.
1. USA 7 ( 3 men, 4 women )
2. GBR 6 ( 3 men, 3 women )
3. JPN 5 ( 3 men, 2 women )
The USA with 4 women are the only country to have more than 3 in either, we and the USA the only countries to have at least 3 in each.
And bear in mind, with how most of the MD WCs are pre-determined, almost all the USA players in the qualifying range of rankings are just left to take part in qualifying rather than be up for MD WCs.
And to the direct final qualifiers :
1= ITA 4 ( 3 men, 1 woman ) - got all their 4 through in FQR
1= GBR 4 ( 2 men, 2 women ) - got 4 out of 6
1= USA 4 ( 1 man, 3 women ) - got 4 out of 7, including the final 2 qualifiers and in tight matches
4. CZE 3 ( 1 man, 2 women ) - got 3 out of 4
5= JPN 2 ( 1 man, 1 woman ) - got 2 out of 5
BUT 2 LL men - for GBR & JPN raise the total to come out of qualifying to 5 ( top!! ) for GBR and to 3 for JPN

A BBC article ( quite detailed but at the bottom of an article headlined about Katie B's wedding ring! ) says that this is the first time 4 British players have progressed from qualifying in an overseas Slam since the Australian Open of 1988. And of course Jake made it 5.
But now to the main draw - how many winners? Get back to you
