Great for Toby but not sure I want to celebrate Garin retiring injured?!

Nonetheless, look forward to seeing who Toby gets in the main draw!

Was there any sign of injury earlier or has Garin possibly just chucked it at *0-5 down in the final set with no sign of a resumption?

Whatever, yes it is great for Toby.

Delighted that Toby made it through and tbh I'm not convinced Garin had any injury, suspect he was just disconsolate at how the match had slipped away. He certainly didn't appear to be in any discomfort or struggling to move.

Toby just went through the gears on the resumption at 4-4 in the second. Cut down the errors and hit some stunning passing shots and winners on the run

He must be fairly close to the top 100 now? Qualifying for two slams is pretty impressive stuff especially as Garin has been ranked as high as No.21 in the past

Absolutely no visible sign of Garin being injured

Yes, I think he saw the forecast and honestly didn't think there was any point hanging around for 24 hours just to resume at 0-5 down against a guy with a very decent serve

He is 88 in the race so its only a matter of time before he gets there.

I make it that hell be on 600 ranking points post US Open as it stands. Which is 105/106 territory. A first round win up to 640 which is currently good enough for 99. So maybe one more win.

Yes, in the short term Toby has relatively little to defend before this year's race concludes so a good chance of top 100 by then by picking up a few more wins, before 100 points come off from 2 Challenger 50 titles later in November. Longer term it is looking very good that he could be a fixture in the top 100.
