Toby through to the main draw!  biggrin 

FQR:  (q7) Toby Samuel WR 111 defeated (q24) Cristian Garin (CHI) WR 135 by 4-6 6-0 5-0 retired

Great for Toby but not sure I want to celebrate Garin retiring injured?!

Nonetheless, look forward to seeing who Toby gets in the main draw!

NOT a celebration of Garin's retiring injured, more a rejoicing at Toby's qualification for the main draw.

Was there any sign of injury earlier or has Garin possibly just chucked it at *0-5 down in the final set with no sign of a resumption?

Whatever, yes it is great for Toby.

Delighted that Toby made it through and tbh I'm not convinced Garin had any injury, suspect he was just disconsolate at how the match had slipped away. He certainly didn't appear to be in any discomfort or struggling to move.

Toby just went through the gears on the resumption at 4-4 in the second. Cut down the errors and hit some stunning passing shots and winners on the run

He must be fairly close to the top 100 now? Qualifying for two slams is pretty impressive stuff especially as Garin has been ranked as high as No.21 in the past
