Week 34 - WTA 500 Abierto GNP Seguros, Monterrey, Mexico- Hard

That's a good win over the #4 seeds. It looks as though this could be a partnership that is going to climb the rankings.

SF:- Mariia Kozyreva / Maia Lumsden (GBR) CR109 (60+49) v Ulrikke Eikeri (NOR) / Quinn Gleason (USA) CR81 (44+37)

All four seeded pairs have gone out, so a good chance to progress. Maia up two places in the live rankings to a new CH of 47, and this time she won't be overtaken.

Yes, very good. Are there indeed plans to be a long term partnership? Isn't Maia with Harriet for the US Open?

I haven't heard anything at all. I personally think that Harriet and Maia should try to play together as much as possible, but while Harriet is still doing pretty well in singles I think that they will only team up occasionally. Maia seems to do well with any partner though.

I've a few thoughts on our top doubles players, but need to crystalize them before posting at length.

Look forward to hearing those - I posed the question a few posts up and it was sort of aimed with your thoughts in mind, The Addict!

That's her second WTA500 final, the first was also in Mxico at Merida in February.

Maybe Mexico will take her for their BJK Cup team if she continues to be ignored by ours!
