2nd time in the open era, the other being 2023, we have 6 or more men in the mens singles draw I believe at the US.

Some stat person will have this, I know, but six players in the main draw of a non-Wimbly Grand Slam seems a lot, no?

AI says previous largest was 5 in the USO in 2022, four in the AO in 2024 but only 3 at RG in 2025

Looking at the US Open men's singles main draws of 2022 and 2023, we had :

5 in 2022 - Andy Dan, Cam, Jack D, and Kyle

4 in 2023 - Andy, Dan, Cam, and Jack D

NB I saw Kyle at the NTC last week (or, at least, 99% it was Kyle - I was a little way away but pretty sure )

Anyway, nice to see him around

Yes seriously impressive stuff.

Leon Smith mentioned that his post-Murray strategy for British Tennis was to flood the slam qualies, and it's certainly working. At least one player has made it through qualifying on the men's side for every slam this year which feels unprecedented.

AO: Arthur qualified (and Loffers was very close, making the FQR)
RG: Toby qualified (and Felix made the FQR)

Wimbledon: Billy, Max and Oli T all qualified
US Open: Toby and Harry qualified and Jake through as a LL

Looks good to say your post Murray strategy was to flood the slam qualifiers when we are flooding the slam qualifiers. wink  ( tbf he maybe mentioned that years ago? )

However we've arrived here, it's great to have so many in qualifying and an icing on the cake when we get so many then coming through qualifying  - numbees in, more chance of numbers out.

Just reported on Sky Sports that Casper Ruud has withdrawn. As the order of play had already been published I assume this is too late for Arthur, but great for a lucky loser.
