M. Backwards-little-French-field-with-possible-Eastern-European-overtones was not amused - but Billy played a very focused, calm game - me of little faith was sure that he'd blow it on the second set, but he really kept going about his business extremely proficiently - Billy reminds me a lot of Marcus Willis (to look at, not his tennis) and it's a different hit of the ball

Er, Billy beat Alexis Gautier....

 You're absolitely right nobiggrin

All the bits about Billy'smatch are correct

And Gautier was not amused

But I was getting carried away with daft-named Tepmahc - he was completely in and all over my mind - even French(ish) family members were texting about him (as I'd sent it to them too)

Sorry !

Off topic, I've been told that fullstops in social media and forum texts are considered to be 'aggressive'

And I find this so hilarious that I've actually been going along with it - it amuses me

A quick google search was most enlightening

Sorry to any young people in particular that I may have offended ( or at least caused to misinterpret my sincerity ) in the past

I'm not.  I couldn't give a stuff if other people think I'm being "aggressive" because I use full stops properly. They should learn to live with it!  furious  What about my sensibilities every time I'm confronted by poor or virtually non-existent punctuation, which is most of the time?!!!

Yes - you're all right - it's off the scale daft

An aggressive fullstop - I could see someone doing a great emoji for it

But I'm running with it for the time being ......biggrin

Absolutely agree.   I feel the same about bad English from journalists and young people who say 'like' 7 times a sentence.
