Week 32 – ITF W35 - Aldershot, Great Britain - Hard

Great effort by Jodie but she just comes up short. She was up a break at *4-3 in the decider before Bandecchi won 3 games on the bounce. She did get fortunate with a horrendous net cord at 15-all in the final game

Didn't see any of it, thanks for the info sammmm.

It looks a great effort by Jodie against the sort of opponent you wouldn't normally expect to encounter at all in a W35 but could in Slam qualifying. Very encouraging.

Absolutely, it was the kind of performance that made me think Jodie can get back to where she was and also that she's committed to it. Playing like that she's definitely got the chance to at least defend her points from QR2 last year. Then hopefully after keeping fit for the BJK cup she can play the indoor UK ITF tournaments in the autumn and really boost her ranking

Tuned in for the doubles MTB

Jodie & Freya were 9-5 up - and got pegged back to 9-9 - they were looking a bit rattled

But then Sav left one and called 'yours' for a ball that Dani wasn't really expecting

And then Dani hoisted a backhand wide

And so the title goes to Jodie and Freya (by a whisker)

Final: Jodie Burrage / Freya Christie (GBR / GBR) CR 802 (652 + 150) beat Daniella Britton / Savannah Dada-Mascoll (GBR / GBR) CR UNR (UNR + 1371) by 6-7(4) 6-3 [11-9]

Well done the final winners and mist certainly.the final losers.

This coming week there are only two WTT events on hardcourts, both W15 - one in China and one in Brazil. Seven clay-court tournaments, one W75 and one W50. This really does need a totla rethink by the WTT.
