Daniella has lost a lot of games on the bounce now, can't see the tide turning there. Jodie is a set up on Esther, was a tight first set

Daniella is 15, has only played 4 tournaments so far, all with a WC, W35 Nottingham, WTA125 Ilkley, Wimbledon Qualifying and here. She went to three in all but the WTA125. So the bar has been set fairly high for a newcomer to the circuit.

Yeah I wasn't expecting Dani or Allegra to win and they certainly pushed their much higher ranked opponents. Indi is the result that's disappointing because it was a close match and it felt like she rather gave it away

I feel a touch sorry for Sophie but it's good experience

She was the slightly better player in that third set - Vicki was doing nothing with the ball, just trying to keep it in (which isn't nothing, I guess, but you know what I mean)

At 5-6, the second point, Sophie is absolutely convinced her ball is in. But called out.

TBH, I'm not A1 sure, it didn't come off the middle of the racket so the trajectory was a little funny - but I did rather 'sense' that it was probably in

Anyway, after a little melt-down, she now hits two wild backhands and effectively hands the match to Vicki (who it still just pushing the ball around)

Brooke unsurprisingly lost heavily to Bandecchi, questioning why on earth she is playing a W35 here just 2-3 weeks before US Open qualifying

Because the WTA/World Tennis/USTA have not put on suitable level events for the ladies in US Open qualifying. This is the highest level and closest to Flushing Meadows hard court event she can play this week in not making the cut for Cinci.

That is ridiculous, not a single hard court event between the Masters 1000 and W35 this week, how is the tour both so packed and yet so sparse

Or next week      After the WTA 1000s there are just European W75 and W50 clay court events in each of the 2 weeks before US Open qualifying so where to get hard court competition?!

Most not involved in the WTA 1000s ( rhe big majority of these in US Open qualifying ) are clearly just taking the weeks off but fair dos if Bandecchi wants some sort of hard court competition.

Allegra Dani or Brooke would be bonus wins I think

Not bad at all. You got all 7 of our winners with then just Indi ( very close ) and Amelie missing out.

Sure posted elsewhere already, but Mimi is heading to Duke for university in the autumn. Feels like a good call (as it is for almost all players). Good luck Mimi!
