Sorry you take it that way CD. I only removed the incorrect and misleading information in the posts to avoid future confusion. I didn't touch the rest of your post - nor Jonh's. I did say last night that I would tidy it up.

That's OK

As above, it is something I feel strongly about and I don't think that Lambda's point as to what is 'legal' or not has any relevance to a forum (apart from in extreme cases, of course)

And I'm still a little sore (in general) about the poor chap who quit because he got hounded about how his posts should be formatted

To be honest, I don't even really like it when SC, say, corrects someone's spelling or whatever - she's not wrong, and maybe it makes the forum look sloppy if not, but the integrity, and freedom, of people's posts is important, I feel.

But, honestly, all good, no worries, and thank you smile

Johnny Aitch I think it was and yes, that was a poor time in the forums recent past.

As someone who makes many typos and grammatical errors due to a combo of fat fingers, haste on an iPhone and lack of care in checking back, Id hate it if anyone ever tried to correct those or , actually worse, pointed out my mistakes - we should never judge others and their mistakes, or feel superior to them because we feel we know better. I realise TA doesnt and didnt do that, some others do.

Personally I certainly think some mistakes are worth pointing out, such as our starter here, if being pretty relevant wrong / misleading info. And almost always folk do this "nicely" as Andy says. And that is surely reasonable for clarity going forward.

Otherwise I see loads of relatively minor ranking and more particularly general spelling errors that I wouldn't dream of bringing up, unless it has an amusing result. I would probably point out a doubles rather than a singles ranking and vice versa.

I do point out player spelling / hyphen ( as very recenty ) errors in most contexts such as results if I think it may well have been genuinely thought correct as opposed to being a typo. I again think that's reasonable and helpful but if folk think otherwise ( why? ) I could easily stop doing so.
