I wonder if the umpire in Fran's match uses his voice for anything else. I have heard him several times and his voice is instantly recognisable. At the very least you would think he would get film voice over jobs.

Bloomin heck, guys and gals, you put us through it today.

But you came out on top more often than not, 5 out of the 7 matches vs foreign opposition, and indeed 6 in all into FQR.

Harriet is second on Court 8 against Heather, and Fran third up on Court 5 against Garland.

I've been shocked at how well we have done here, and there is the possibility that were Heather to beat Harriet in the final qualifying round, then Harriet would be in the mix for a lucky loser slot. I say that because so many seeds have fallen so far - by my calculations,, Harriet is the 9th highest seed left in qualifying, so if quite a few seeds do go through in the final round, she could still get through as a Lucky Loser. Fran is the highest qualifying seed left in, by the way.

I think it is more likely that Harriet will win against Heather though, particularly given Heather's marathon match - hopefully Fran will recover after her long three setter - I always get concerned when I see Fran has had a long match and then has to play the next day.

Anyway great performances from the Brits - very uplifting for everyone I think.
