 Agreed they should've there, however they did mention it in the 100m buildup... I think anyway! Either way those stories never good for the sport.

 I heard it mentioned last night for the 200m, Cram Im sure mentioned it.

These 3 different kits GB are wearing are very confusing for spectators.

Good to see GB marathon running back in a good place. An individual bronze and team gold for the ladies and a 7th placed individual position in the men.
The course wax tough, but not as tough as at the commonweslths.

And for me!  cry  It didn't help that the Italians were wearing colours I'd expect to see our athletes wearing & in no way reflected the Italian tricolour!  I actually preferred them to our own.

 Goodness we nearly beat them though. That mens 4x400 m relay, I thought Charlie Dobson had that one and Jasmine only one centimetre away in the long jump. Fab performances! Five golds for the women and three for the men with one shared in the mixed.

They took SO long to mearure that long jump ....

It looked over 7 m !

Yesterday was great! Such close fights... would've been interesting to see if we had Anning in the women's if we would've won as that was tighter than expected! So many tight 2nd that were close to 1st

Great atmosphere in an almost full stadium, great events, athletics at its best.

Tbf in clips of some Brits' previous European performances I have seen.some fairly empty looking stadiums. It was still a real pity these first few days, and given folk now say that could have been anticipated to a degree at the start of the week, I wonder if it could have been mitigated against with say some more imaginative pricing

 Emily Newnham's challenge to Femke Bol in the last leg of the relay was astonishing - her development over the year has been phenomenal

Pity GB & NI didn't have pentathlete Kate O'Connor, that NI athlete from the Commonwealth Games, competing for them

I read that she born in Newry, NI but raised across the border in Dundalk. And that athletes from NI can compete for either GB & NI or Ireland on the world stage

Or even, if history had taken a different turn (& I mean no disrespect whatsoever to Jazz Sawyers, who was quite clearly over the moon with her achievement in the long jump & content with her silver medal), Fiona May hadn't ditched her British coach in the early 90s, found herself an Italian one, Gianni Iapichino, an ex-pole vaulter, married him, left the British team over lack of adequate funding (can't really blame her for that!), taken Italian citizenship & given birth to Larissa...

 Really?! 

in world terms, shes not at the very top, 14th best this season at 100m and below 20th in 200m. Realise SPOTY has a P for personality but I like my SPOTY to be world beating if possible. Hopefully, she will back up the Euro medals etc with Diamond League and Ultimate Games performances as this season closes. 

Hard to call out another alternative , Id have to think. Nonetheless.
