Apparently it was the oldest brother, Zach (she has two more)

F:- Ella McDonald (GBR) WR531 lost to Amelia Rajecki (GBR) WR508 0-6 2-6

Millies second (and biggest) title of her career I believe, her first was a W15 title almost 4 years ago smile

Yes, plenty doubles titles but surprisingly previously just that W15 singles title. No messing either!

Having been WR 508 on 27/07, her total of 68 points from her Dublin RU and Roehampton title will take her back into the top 400 and indeed she should take out her CH 392 from June 2025. Provisionally GB #12.

Well done !!

Congratulations to Millie although those extra couple of doubles matches for Ella including that final yesterday took some energy out of her game.

Well done, Millie

As Indy says, she's found a very nice vein of good form

(and thanks to her I have a very nice kerching moment - the odds were quite heavily in favour of Ella which seemed daft)

I would have thought that there would be some form of punishment. Would there have been bets on the winner of the tournament? I wouldnt be happy if I had put money on her winning it to find she had withdrawn to go to a wedding!

Surely she would have listed some sort of injury as the official reason for her withdrawal?

I don't know but I would have thought a player could withdraw for any reason, including personal reasons

The betters get their money back if someone withdraws (just the stake, obviously) so there's no problem with them

Its a $750 fine for failing to complete a tournament unless reasonably unable to do so.

That said, Jodie wouldn't be being rewarded with a wild card by her home federation in the very next week if she had done something unreasonable.

Money back for a specific match yes but re tournament betting ( not sure if there was any here ) I'd be doubtful for withdrawals during the tournament?
