Jodie takes it into a decider winning the second set tie-break 7-5 courtesy of a big ace out wide on set point. This is such a tight match but great to help Jodie build match fitness

Elsewhere Esther is a set to the good and Millie has an early break against Alicia

Alica *3-5 vs Millie.

Alicia is our one woman player near the borderline for getting on the US Open qualifying list, based on the upcoming 03/08 rankings.

And she could be currently very much on that borderline, being live ranked 228 on 352 points.

Would be a really tangible reward for the great work she has done over the last year, surpassing quite a number of expectations, including some of my own at times.

Although I try not to pick a side when it's two brits, I am hoping Alicia beats Millie and then (hopefully) Jodie because it would give her a good chance of being in US Open qualies and would be a well earned reward for a great 12 months

Yes

She landed a really good serve on her MP too

But she sort of watched it, as she often does, wasn't really ready for it to come back

Second set tie break between Alicia and Millie. Alicia hasn't had a single break point against Millie's serve

Millie beats Alicia in straight sets, definitely wasn't expecting that given recent form

Yes, but we all know why that happened....

Well done to Millie

But poor Alicia can't battle with the Gloom on her shoulder ......

Hopefully he doesn't travel to Spain next week and instead stays near Roehampton ... disappointed for Alicia because I think she'll be the wrong side of the USO bubble now

Millie's serve obviously on fire. When she played Eliz yesterday, Eliz did not get a single break point!
