So there are no Brit v Brit contests in R2.

Is anyone heading to Aldershot this week? I might go along on Monday or Tuesday to see if I can get some shots of our girls in action. The forecast is for it to be rather hot on Wednesday.

Millen's little sister is off to a flyer - already 3-0 up against the Botswanan player

Sophia has taken the first set 6-3, a fair score for a middling match

Hollie has dropped the first set 1-6 - the sooner Hollie goes to US college and gets some good coaching and drilling, the better - her current coach should be ashamed - she has some good qualities, obviously, but her backhand has now become a pretty horrid shot and her problems with movement and positioning cause her issues all round - the last 12 months have all been backwards

the best match of the three I've been watching is Kris Paskauskas' one

Kris won the first set 6-3, very tight until right at the end

A nice match so far, decent quality tennis from both

I've also settled on that match, Sophia didn't seem to need to play very well to take the first set but Kristina's match is competitive

Yes. I feel that Sophia's match is competitive too - it's true she didn't need to play that well but I don't actually know if she CAN play well, if you know what I mean - it's middling from both

But Milanese is playing better than I expected and the quality of the tennis in their match is nice

Hollie's opponent is now having an MTO, which might be a major blessing for Hollie's camp

Kristina sees out her match very nicely

Now, there's a coach who should be very pleased - Kris always had a decent, traditional team but whoever her coach has been/is (at NC State, Wolfpack, I think?), they should be very happy to have her showcase his/her skills - good redircetion, light on her feet and dynamic, good technique - nothing really amazing but a very nice total package

Hollie has taken the second set - Gandolfi was moving rather gingerly but it's an MTB so they're both going for it now

It would be SO nice to actually win one of these darn MTBs

Allez, Hollie !

Texas A&M (thanks Lambda) and I thought she did a good job of dictating play and moving her opponent around too

Was she at NC State before? I remember seeing her Wolfpack photo

ADD: Just checked and she did two years at NC State and then moved - I'm out of touch - I presume Gabia moved too?

Another MTB goes the wrong way

Hollie lost, with a spate of UEs at the end

GB Tennis Data suggests she has just transferred from Alabama and is about to start at A&M but I couldn't tell you any further back than that
