Week 30 - WTA500 - Washington DC, USA - Hard

Katie went 2-0 up in the third and won only four more points.

Heathers career in a microcosm unfortunately, these wild unpredictable swings in momentum are actually wearyingly predictable.

I am sure nobody is more frustrated by it than Heather.

Katie and Polina heading for a heavy defeat - I'm not surprised but was expecting a little more resistance.

I couldn't find a general WTA tennis thread to post this in but I feel it's now past ridiculous that Venus Williams at 46 - having not won a singles match in over a year - is being given a wildcard into a WTA500 and since her last win has been given wildcards into 4 WTA1000 events, the US and Aus Open, and 3 other WTA tour level events.

As an aside, Sammmm, you can start a thread yourself if you can't find a relevant one. Within the women's discussion section, it should have a button which says "Start a New Topic" at the top right of the discussions. Literally, just click that, give it a title and fire away with what you want to say or discuss.

It is v simple and anyone on the board can start any discussion any time - there is no set approval or structure to do that, other than the way that tournament threads are titled, for example. No one owns any part of the board (although they may act like it! I am looking at myself here!!)
