Yeah theres a lot. If they dont keep their maiden name. So many do that understandably, especially  if they are well known by their maiden name in their careers.

Apart from the Ramsay-Peaty-s? 

(Not talking about keeping maiden names - that's wholly different and your first post was about double-barrels, not keeping the maiden name)

 Yeah, but that's like the woman whose wedding I was at last week - as in, if there's no hyphen, for British names, that's just a middle name - we don't allow two totally separate surnames (although you can use it for normal usage but it won't be on official docs)

It doesn't matter - it's not important biggrin - I just hadn't seen many/any recently ....

Could go on
Granted some dont hyphenate but there are loads of example around especially in the next generation. It must get very complicated for the following generation though!

 Yes it is. My daughter combines her maiden and married name and it is her official surname.

 I'm sorry but as above, we were talking about hyphenated double-barreled names  

(Sanchez Vicario obviously doesn't count as all Spanish names have two surnames in them - different country - different rules) 

And none of these are recent (as per the context for the original post re Katie/Alex) - after all, Chris Evert is just Chris Evert now - her Lloyd moment was donkeys' years ago 

Jon is the only one who has come up with a recent example of ONE couple who decided to make their names into a double-barreled name (and I'd happily also take examples where only the woman did - there must be some but no one can think of any)

Not athletes but Dawn Porter (presenter/author) and Chris O' Dowd (actor) got married and Dawn became Dawn O' Porter as a meshed surname.

My kid has my surname as opposed to my partner's; if we got married, he would take my name also (his surname is long and he has no connection to it; its too long to hyphenate)
