Week 30 - WTA500 - Washington DC, USA - Hard

QR1: Katie Swan (GBR) WR200 v Lea Ma (USA) WR274

QR1: Heather Watson (GBR) WR475 v Kamilla Rahikmova WR78 [3]

I assume Katie B has moved to the main draw

Shuai Zhang WR56 is top seed in qualifying. tennisforum.com has Katie as first alternate yesterday, although she doesn't appear in the player list on the official website.

I notice Katie is now using Katie de Minaur on twitter, anyone know if shes planning to change from Boulter across the board?

Katie de Minaur sounds much more regal, don't you think?

It would be fun to have two Australian players called Alex Bolt and Alex Boulter.

Really? I've seen hardly any women choose to double-barrel their names recently - I thought it had gone out of fashion

I went to a wedding of young people last week where the woman had decided to keep her maiden name as a middle name (had to actually get a deed poll to do it, it's not an option for the registery office /church)

But haven't seen any double-barrel ones for ages

Yeah theres a lot. If they dont keep their maiden name. So many do that understandably, especially  if they are well known by their maiden name in their careers.
