Well from 6-2 5-1 up Charles is making a bit of a meal of this.

With their respective QF wins now having Jake showing as live ranked 116 and Toby as live ranked 119, with no-one that can overtake Toby, we are already going to have 5 players in the top 120 and none of these is Jack Draper.

Indeed live rankings indicate that Jake will be back into the top 100 if he wins the Bloomfield Hills title.

Chidekh (6) is lurking in JoMo's half of the draw...

Both Chidekh and JoMo are out, so onto new pastures for both of them

Seems theyve never played each other before. Got to fancy Toby to win the semi and probably favourite for the event. Either way, a British finalist.

What a fantastic week for Charlie, great to see him put the disappointment of not featuring at Wimbledon to one side.

Particularly delighted to see Charlie having a good week. I watched two of his matches over the last couple of months (his first round RG qualies loss and his loss in Eastbourne qualies to Marcus Giron) where it was clear that he was playing the best tennis of his life - the level was so high in terms of the serving and ball-striking, and he really deserved to win both.

But both times he just couldn't quite get over the line, which was a real shame, and both losses would have been quite tough to take. But I very much hope he can take that level to some of these lower tier tournaments as he's playing well enough to be top 200 and consistently in the slam qualies.

Same with Toby - he's having a phenomenal year, but had two recent matches which got away - that Eastbourne semi loss to Bergs where he served for the match and his Wimbledon 5 set epic with Mensik. Great to see that he's put those disappointments behind him and getting the job done in Winnepeg. Dare I say it, the top 100 really isn't that far away...

100% agree, Sheddie

Charlie's loss in QR1 of RG was just heart-breaking - or utterly infuriating, whichever way you want to look at it

(or indeed both)

It was completely his match

I didn't watch Eastbourne as I couldn't go through that again

But, yep, very happy he's having a good run here

Well done to Toby. Looks a big first set to have sneaked from *2-4 down.

Toby is now showing as live ranked 118 with 545 points.

Charles showing as live ranked 282 on 192 points ( 22 points have replaced 25 points dropping this week ). He appears to be entered into the Vancouver Challenger 125 next week but I think he probably now needs to reach the final there ( worth 64 points ) to have a chance of getting into US Open qualifying.
