Week 28 – ITF W50 Nottingham, Great Britain - Hard

First time I've really watched Alicia. She seems a solid if not particularly attacking player.

I think that win lifts Alicia to the mid 220s so shes right on the cusp of making US Open Qualifying! Would Dublin points count in time if she has a good run there too?

Edit: Brooke's second doubles title after winning a W35 in Darwin last year

Well done, Brooke !

(Does anyone know who had the problem, Vic or Millie?)

Vic misses out on a POM nomination for winning consecutive titles  cry

Indy has said that the date that counts for US Quaifying is 03/08

I think it was vic who was unwell. But that's not first hand info...

I thought bains edged the 2nd set up to the tie break. Alicia definitely had service games that were a bit of a struggle. There was a close line call late in the set that shifted the momentum back and alicia was more solid in the tie break. Some good rallies though. And nice to see nakaitha coming to the net which mixed it up.

Naiktha came close to taking the 2nd set, I think she had a couple of set points. This tournament has moved her up to 377 in the live rankings.

So that would include Dublin points meaning if Alicia wins a match or two shes effectively guaranteed US open qualifying which would be a brilliant achievement

Edit - my apologies - Dublin is a 50K - was always a 15K - and there's a coachload going including Alicia.
