Qualifying gets underway at Roehampton tomorrow, as 6 Brits try to join Mark Ceban and 8 wildcards (listed by Rose in the Roehampton thread) in the main draw

Just one success in the first qualifying round today. In the main draw, which I will add later, Rhys Lawlor has a tough draw against the strong American Michael Antonius, who is into the Roehampton final.

Well done Harrison

Saw him play recently at the Connaught British Tour event (a good match with a rather dodgy line call for the last point but nothing on the scale of some of the other line-calling i saw there, and by one of the other players in today's draw too, namely Casey - truly shocking - a Fench coach who happened to be be there actually wrote and complained to Bath university)

Vincent Fletcher, who like Rhys progressed to round 3 at Roehampton, also has a tough draw against the top seed. Luis lost to Michael Antonius in the quarter-finals yesterday, reversing the result of the Roland Garros final.

 His younger brother has been known to do the same

Hopefully Bath sort it. They are both good players but their calls cast a big dampener on their matches

Real shame for Rhys - but maybe the lag effect from Roehampton for Michael will help Rhys

And for Vincent

I don't know Goode, or Paparkar, or Chavez, or Ogunsakin

Isaac and Josh did very well in nationals (hence guaranteeing their places here) but this is a real step up

I always enjoy watching a bit of the British juniors. Looking forward to hopefully seeing a bit this week. Anyone wanna give us all some tips about who to watch and why? Who are our best prospects here - both for this tournament and for the long term? Only one I've heard of is Mark Ceban and I don't have time to research the others more.

Rhys Lawlor is one of my little faves - but he's got a very hard draw

As has poor Vincent who is playing now - he's doing pretty well against the top seed, making a match of it, some acrobatics, Miguel looking a bit irritated at times, but the top seed has the match unless a real upset happens

Liam Channon is Mick Channon's son, if you ever used to follow Southampton in the footie

The first two results are unsurprising losses. There were some entertaining rallies in Vincent's match, but as CD says the result was never in doubt.
