Wimbledon for the Brits has gone from very exciting with the successes of qualifying... to feeling like it's all going to be over very quickly.

Second big shock of the day (after Jack's unexpected withdrawal):  Ruud (11) beaten in straight sets by "Hubi" Hurkacz (6-4 6-2 7-6(7)!

 Yes, hasn't it just cry

I guess it is reflective, though, of the fact that we have a big bunch of men, in particular, in the 100-300 range - but very few in the top-100

So they're doing well to get through qualis, to be in contention for MD WCs etc, but they're not top-100 players yet

And not dissimilar in the women really....

With Jack and Emma out, we've hardly any top-100 players in the draw

Who's the plonker with the northern accent doing the voiceover when coverage is halted briefly on one court so that updates can be given on the progress (or the lack of it!) of British players in action other courts?  I lost count of the number of times he pronounced "Basing" as "Bass-ing" before he eventually corrected it!  furious  He's also pronouncing "Zheng" as "Jeng".  Utterly clueless!   disbelief

And now he's treating the "k" in "Rinderknech" as silent!  evileye

Ollie will be rueing that volley he pushed wide in the tie break, he's competing so well but fine margins in the big moments is the difference
