Yaneeva reached the SF in Brescia last week - on clay - lost to Sherif. I fancy Lily's chances there. Otherwise Heather and Ella are the best chances, although, Katy may stand a chance against Sasnovich and if Millie plays well she could win as well.
Looking further ahead, the prospects aren't so good........
But they're all winners for getting this far, especially those who came through pre-qualifying.
I can see at least 9 matches I would like to watch tomorrow, but the scheduling means that I'll be lucky to get to more than 4 of them. Oh well........
Im going to be the ultimate pessimist here and say I dont see any wins at all - sorry! But Ive said many times, I know nothing at all about womens tennis so Im sure Ill be totally wrong!
My reasoning for Dani is Riera doesnt appear to have played on grass since Wimbledon qualies last year, has never got past round 2 of qualifying and has only played on clay since February

Riera hasn't done so well on hard courts either. But last year here she beat Taylah Preston 4 & 2 and took a set off Iva Jovic who was ranked a lowly 89 at the time.
I see a couple at most from Heather and Ella. I hope more optimistic folk are right!
I think you might be right on Heather and Ella - I'll add Lily to make it three wins tomorrow. It's going to be scorching though - so some players will cope better with the extreme heat than others, and I reckon it makes it far harder to predict. Anyway a good luck to all our players from me - everyone is rooting for you all and we will be delighted at any who come through.
Those travelling today the distric and circle lines are closed due to overnight lightning storm. Woke me up! Im on tube down to Stratford for work in an air con office. Already muggy out there!

Id definitely have more confidence if it was someone like Ella against Riera but Dani gave a respectable performance in her match at Nottingham(?) against a better player than Riera so Im on the hopium
Taylah was down around 250 at the time after her ranking slipped back and Jovic won the first and third 6-1 so Im wondering if it was a teenager concentration lapse. at this point Im just trying to find reasons to be hopeful

really helpful, Jon - thanks - I'll vote in all your competitions now
I've arrived. Nice clouds and a breeze for the walk up. Looks like it will be court jumping for the first few matches as matches overlap. Not as busy as last year, but it's still early.
