L28: (WC) Arthur Féry WR 118 defeated Román Andrés Burruchaga (ARG) WR 66 by 6-2 4-6 7-5
Arthur breezed through the first set & went off the boil in the second, managing to stave off three set points in ninth game, so that at least he started the decider on his own service, & then the UEs crept in with a vengeance... Somehow, however, he found a way to turn it round from *3-5 in the decider. Another absorbing match!

L16: (WC) Arthur Féry WR 118 vs (8) Juan Manuel Cerúndolo (ARG) WR 45 (= CH)
Well I thought Arthur was out of that at the beginning of the last set, when a break down, but he hung in, kept getting balls back and forced his way back into the match, and ultimately, broke back, then broke again to win. What a great finish!!
He was quite happy at the end. He still needs another win for you know what though, and he won a CH 50 during Wimbledon last year, so a win next week might not take him over the line.
He's back at bloody live ranked 101 for now though.
If he gets one more win for 657 points then live rankings indicates that he could move up to WR 99.
Only 2 foreign players could overtake that mark: Vukic by reaching the QF in Eastbourne ( 664 points ) and Dzumhur by reaching the SF in Mallorca ( 704 points )
The other 3 who could overtake that 657 mark are all Brits in Eastbourne - Arthur ( by reaching the final ), Jack PJ.or Toby ( by winning the title ). So by definition 3 other Brits individually with at least theoretical top 100 chances this week.
Both Vukic and Dzumhur lost - all good. Though to complicate the issue back into things has come Quentin Halys as another LL, playing Giles in R2. He was last seen losing to LL Toby in QR1! - and now if both he and Jan win their R2 matches, Halys will go to 666 points and Jan to live ranked 100 on 657 points.
And still on the periphery for now are the other 3 Brits, a maximum 2 of whom could theoretically pass that 657 mark.
What we appear to have now guaranteed is that if Jan wins his R2 match we will end the week with at least one new top 100 Brit.
