Week 25 - ATP 250 - Lexus Open - Devonshire Park, Eastbourne, Great Britain (grass)

Dusan Lajovic at Wimbledon and Fonseca on clay the only others that spring to mind. Faintly ridiculous that someone with such a limited tour level record can be borderline top 100 but Im here for it.

Pretty sure someone got into the WTA top 100 by just playing 25k tournaments for ages or low challengers. At least Jan is targeting high challengers.

Not on the men's side but I'm pretty sure from memory playing 25Ks is how Mel South got into the top 100. It's a points game!

Jan beat Popyrin!!!

He was quite happy at the end. smile  He still needs another win for you know what though, and he won a CH 50 during Wimbledon last year, so a win next week might not take him over the line.

He's back at bloody live ranked 101 for now though.

If he gets one more win for 657 points then live rankings indicates that he could move up to WR 99.

Only 2 foreign players could overtake that mark: Vukic by reaching the QF in Eastbourne ( 664 points ) and Dzumhur by reaching the SF in Mallorca ( 704 points )

The other 3 who could overtake that 657 mark are all Brits in Eastbourne - Arthur ( by reaching the final ), Jack PJ.or Toby ( by winning the title ). So by definition 3 other Brits individually with at least theoretical top 100 chances this week.

Aranxta Rus was famous for it

Make that Hamish or Tirante:

So bizarre - hopefully a precaution ahead of Wimbledon.

Hamish has dropped the first set 7-5

Might possibly be a family emergency or something like that

Is it possible to watch Giles anywhere?   He is a set and 3 - 0 up.

Giles just loves the Eastbourne lawns! What a performance.

Now live ranked 256 - he's put himself in with a shot at US Open qualies.
