So this is all fantastic news, but is nobody addressing the elephant in the room about the ridiculous withdrawals - both in terms of number and timing.

This has been bubbling away all grass season, but this appears to be a nadir. I know Eastbourne is always vulnerable given timing but this feels particularly egregious. Happy to be told this is just a human cognitive bias at play and I need to more actively address recency bias.

Even some of the earlier tournaments multiple weeks before Wimbledon seemed to have a breathtaking amount of withdrawals. When this involves higher seeds it means repeated last 16 matches with players who arent of the appropriate level.
