I watched all of Oli's match and he deserved the opening set as he was far more solid than the Frenchman, who made a lot of errors.
The second and third sets were totally different as the errors stopped and Oli couldnt counter.
Havent seen Oli before, but very strong defensively.

I watched Jay from 4-1 up and then he got broken twice.
However he maintained his composure, held his serve and cruised through the rest of the match against an error ridden opponent.

Finally Billy Harris put up an excellent performance against the big serving lad from HK. The final set was terrific.
Once he worked out how to return serve effectively, he was in control.
I saw 2 games of Felix Gill(it was late and i had a 2 hour drive) in which he got broken. Glad to see he got the break back.

Challengers with electronic line calling is a new one to me...

Me also when at Ilkley. Which got me wondering - although it means the ATP have them for all main tour and Challenger events and, thus, the womens events alongside them had electronic line calling, does a WTA 125 or 250 in its own right have electronic line calling as standard? ie for a standalone event? Are both tours aligned on this as a tool?

ATP and WTA are aligned in requiring ELC Live in all Tour level events and optional at Challenger level.
There are different levels of ELC. UTR Pro Tennis Tour where it's mandated and ITFs use a much cheaper version

PS Mr Tarvet, his dad and his former University use the Ollie variant spelling.

Thanks Lambda - does the ITF cheaper version also mean less reliable and accurate? As in, why would you go for the more expensive version?

At Ilkley and presumably here in Nottingham also, the system had video play back for official review of close calls, so you could see what happened. Similar to what we have seen at Wimbledon. Im guessing the cheaper version doesnt have that?

Feels like Billy, Jay and Felix need to get another win or two here.

If Jay and Felix get a win here, they would start to clash with the play offs and availability, so may need that wildcard for qualies as a result (notwithstanding Felix may get in directly in due course).

Oli C and Charles B are in a similar boat in Dublin, playing later today.

Could those final 2 Wimbledon qualies wildcards come down to 2 of those 4 - Felix, Jay, Charles and Oli C?

Just because your singles success means you clash with playoffs doesn't mean you get a wildcard to qualis

As poor Sam Murray will testify nohmm

no, indeed, that is true - and I seem to remember a number of Eastbourne wildcards have historically been given out to players in that boat as a sort of consolation.

Nonetheless, winning more can only help make their case, losing certainly won't!!

I cant see why they didnt go with Billy and Evo, cant see the other options that are better. Unless they are waiting to see if Berrettini gets in directly?
