Alicia ramming hom her Wimbledon MD WC credentials?

 Yes

Short of Williams x 2, Pliskova, Chwalinska, Mrs Tom Cobley and all taking all the wildcards, I think she's a slamdunk for a MD one now

 Mrs Tim Cobley?

From the song Widdicombe Fair. Old uncle Tom Cobley and all - meant everyone else you could possibly think of.

It doesn't sound like Serena is going for one and I don't think Venus will get one either.

Edit: Just realised wrong thread for this, but hell it's here now.

I was reading a few of Serenas interviews and at this stage she was saying she would need to do a lot more work to be able to play singles. I think she will stick with doubles for the foreseeable and see how it goes.

LTA site is showing some courts starting at 11:45 and others at 12, how are conditions looking and is there likely to be any play today?

court 5 is nearest the car park which was too waterlogged to use this morning. Ive seen officials come and look at it so assume its too wet.

Ella looking assured on court with more of a complete game than I remember when I last saw her here. Conditions are squally. Play was interrupted by a couple of ducks on court. Ella leads 4-2. Lulu not entirely happy on this surface.

Lulu looks like she hates grass

Mind you, everyone's been saying that Lulu is having major problems at the moment on whatever

However, Ella looks very comfortable and won that first set at a canter

6-2

Lulus woes continue. Hard to tell what is wrong. Shes good in patches but looks stiff and cold and lacking and loses her serve to hand Ella the set. 6-2. I forgot to mention that both girls play left-handed.

It is hard to think her breakthrough year was 2024 reaching quarters at Wimbledon on the green stuff!

Ellas level dropped for a couple of games, with unforced errors, allowing Lulu to break back. Lulu leads 3-2 second set

I thought Lulu cut out a lot of the really daft UEs too

It was still close but at least she was making some balls, unlike she did in the first
