Great performance and experience for Dani. Not sure why all the doom and gloom merchants on here were so appalled by it. Surely better then seeing someone like Bains losing 1 and 1?

Oh, she did very well, that's for certain
And far better than Hannah Klugman did in her recent effort gainst Krueger, for instance
It wasn't that we'd prefer to see Naiktha (!), but that it would have been more interesting for Dani to have other lower level grass events to practice on before Wimbly qualis, rather than having to do a WTA 125
I also think Alicia has done enough now, but she doesn't have the high profile of some of the others, so it would be very easy for the Wildcard Committee to overlook her, particularly if the Williams sisters and Chawlinska get wildcards. If only Chawlinska gets a wildcard, then I can't see how they can ignore her.
Her season so far has been outstanding, and it feels like she is the classic late developer - only having her breakthrough season now she is 23 years old, and surprising everyone, not least I am sure the LTA, who were concentrating on Hannah, Mimi and Mika as our next big things.
Anyway well done Alicia - I am keeping my fingers crossed that her great season is rewarded with a main draw Wimbledon wildcard, and I think that Fran, Harriet and Katie S have also all done enough to warrant awards - Harriet's great performance today should have cemented her place and silenced any doubters. What a difference a year makes for her.
