It rained heavily in these parts this morning, throwing it down around 8-8.30 ish. It has stopped now and is cloudy but brightening a little. It looks like the rain has stopped at the moment. Forecast suggests late morning and in the afternoon should be dry and sunny - so we should get a decent amount of play, might just be delayed starting.

 Interestingly, Golubic (top seed) and Dani Britton are on one of the outside courts. I wondered if they are trying to keep it lower profile for Dani's sake, as opposed to throwing onto a show court

Very pleased for Edie

Although Naiktha will need to have a close look in the mirror

Not only the MPs in the second set - but she was 5-2 up in the third and then lost 5 games on the trot

But great job for Edie

I watched her at Surbiton and have always liked her, and Hollie too, as our 2009-ers who don't get any attention i.e. the also-ran group, after Mika and Hannah

Edie wins 5 straight games from 5-2 down to beat Naiktha 7-5 in the decider, expect this to really sting for Naiktha after missing Match points in the 2nd set tie-break too

I'm hopefuly Emily A might be able to pull off a surprise win against Tan, Edie will have a reall tough task against Valdmannova which i think is also scheduled for today?
