Exactly. Supposed to be the British tennis forum. Bet all those people who were cheering at 8:30 at night on outside court would not have been there for Maria v Samsonova.

 Exactly. I know I wouldn't have but I'm a Harriet fan anyway.

I don't begrudge Harriet any of her Wc's she always steps up for the team GB tournaments.

Still not with you on this one smile

(and it didn't have to be Harriet's wildcard)

But very pleased for Harriet, and for the supporters - I watched and enjoyed biggrin

Obviously, though, the people who like the fact the supporters were there in number for Harriet will be equally glad if the supporters are there in number for Venus or Serena at the expense of a Brit

Ive been waiting for someone to say this! After her shift at the BJK Cup she can have all the wild cards she wants this year!

CD you are probably my favourite poster on here but going to disagree with you again here.  I will be very annoyed if Venus and Serena get a wildcard at Wimbledon just to raise their profile yet again.  Im sure crowds would flock to see them but you can hardly compare them to Maria?

People need to remember this is a British tennis tournament, fans want to see brits play and hopefully win, Im glad the lta are finally seeing sense and prioritising the wildcards to British players. Also Im sorry I will say it again tatiana played so well last year I will give her that but she has been absolutely poor all season hardly winning matches and on the slide in rankings, so I agree that the wildcard went to brits and not Tatiana, sorry my opinion.
