Week 23 - WTA500 - HSBC Championships, Queens, London

Fought well after the slip but fascinating to me how much she depended upon her camp for guidance and encouragement. I don' think she would have got through without their support actually. Amazing how she seemed to lack self-confidence and belief at times in the second set.

She will need to recover and play a lot lot better against Jovic. But a win is a win and well done Emma.

What happened? Had to pop out for an hour and basically missed the whole match. Was Vekic very good or Katie not so good or a combination of both?

Tbh I thought two games a few hours apart would prove too much for Emma's legs today but she's proving me absolutely wrong with a vengeance. One more point and she's through to the final.

That was a very high quality match, with both players going for their shots. Emma's serve was working well today, particularly the wide serve spinning away from her opponent. Emma's error rate today was very low which forced her opponent to take risks to win any points.

Is there anywhere I can watch a replay of that semi, not just highlights? Thanks

BBC2 on the I player.    I have just watched it again.  You need to watch the current programme and move the cusrer back to the time etc.

Having looked like a possible withdrawal earlier to that performance is just great to see.  Quite possibly the best she's played for quite a while. I hope she can win tomorrow as it would really give her confidence moving forward.

I was at Queens today and the atmosphere was incredible for the last match!
