Indeed CD, and I've said my piece elsewhere.

This reigning champion being left in qualifying as #1 alt is just bizarre. And IMO very wrong.

I have to say that I agree with CD and Indi. I'm normally 100% behind giving the GB players as big a boost as possible, but I feel if ever there was a deserving case for a non GB player to get a wild card it's here. Not only did Tatyana win the tournament last year, she also won everyone's hearts. Shame on the LTA, the tournament or whoever it is that makes these decisions.

Maria won the title last year as a qualifier, perhaps she can repeat that success and achieve a unique double of winning the same WTA title twice as a qualifier.
